I really like weddings at the Windsor Hotel Worthing and I really enjoyed filming Adam and Ellie’s wedding there. Bill, the wedding coordinator, is a real star and is always on hand with a cheerful attitude and professional manner. I have been to the Windsor Hotel before as the official wedding photographer when I photographed Wayne and Karen getting married. You can see other weddings I have photographed or filmed in Worthing on our dedicated Worthing Wedding Photographer page.
Two Camera Set Up
For the first time, I had one of my sons to help with the filming. We have recently begun using two or more cameras to film events. I can set one camera up as a static cam but if I have an extra person to help all the better.
Ellie was very nervous before the ceremony and needed some very deep breaths and calming words from her parents before leaving the bridal suite and making the rather long walk to the function room. Adam on the other hand seemed calm and indeed brimming with confidence as the big moment approached. Ellie walked down the aisle to Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy and it has really added to the atmosphere of the highlights video below. It’s such a lovely snapshot of the day. Definitely worth watching.
Windsor Hotel Worthing
There is a lovely light in the ceremony room at the Windsor Hotel with such large windows covering two sides. It makes the room feel larger and more open than it is adding to the atmosphere. However, no matter how cheerful a room looks, it is the people who really create the laughter and happiness of an occasion like this.
On being presented to their guests at the end of the ceremony, Adam raised his hands to encourage cheers and more applause as they made their way down the centre aisle. It was as if to say “Come on!! We’ve done it, let’s celebrate!”
And indeed they did. I have not laughed so much or been so moved by wedding speeches for some time. Adam and his Best Man may not have vast experience in public speaking but it did not matter as what they said wasn’t forced or contrived. They spoke like true friends surrounded by other true friends, telling hilarious and moving tales of their lives which were familiar to everyone there. We were part of a very large, very close family all gathered together at the Windsor Hotel Worthing .
The most moving part of the speeches was when Ellie stood up to read a poem written for the day. It ended with the line, “so raise a glass and dry your tears, there’s one thing left to say, and that’s, cheers!”. She couldn’t have predicted it better because pretty much everyone was in tears. It was a lovely moment.
The Deloreans Party Band
The evening was made really special primarily due to the amazing wedding band Ellie had booked. The Deloreans are from Chichester and play a range of cover songs from every decade back to the 50s. But what sets them apart is the way they have engineered their set so they have virtually no gap between songs. One finishes and they are straight into another. This keeps the energy going and of course keeps people on the dance floor. It helps that they are a very tight, well rehearsed outfit too.
I think this was their first time at the Windsor Hotel Worthing but I am sure it won’t be the last. If you are looking for s band for your wedding or event I have no hesitation in highly recommending The Deloreans to you.
Wedding Photographer Worthing
We filmed right to the end of a thoroughly enjoyable night at, what is for me, one of Worthing’s best venues for small to medium sized weddings. I am due to film at the Windsor Hotel Worthing again in the not to distant future and I am already looking forward to it. I must give a quick mention to Louise Griffin who was the official photographer at Adam and Ellie’s wedding. I know the couple are very happy with their pictures. Congratulations to them both on a wonderful day and I wish them the very best for the future.
